Starting 2/3, all of my new CAD models will only be uploaded to Printables.
I was working on a project involving a lot of small components, and they kept teleporting across the table whenever I left to grab a tool or take a bathroom break. To solve this problem, I decided to design and build a parts organizer for my common tools and small components.
I started off by cutting a wood board into the size I needed for the base. One of my IKEA shelves had collapsed, so I used a board from the shelf as the base for this project. I marked on the board where each individual section would be glued on, as well as where the boxes would go.
I designed a simple tray in tinkercad for each individual section. Each tray has a large cutout for storing a 5x5 inch box or other large boxes, as well as smaller sections for storing small components.
After 3d printing each individual section, I glued them onto the board with wood glue. Finally, I waited a day for the glue to dry, and the tray was ready for use!
